Description

HawkEye 360 is currently seeking an Associate System Operations Engineer to join the Collection and Capacity Management team, which is a group of passionate people dedicated to maximizing the performance and quality of the end-to-end HE360 system through monitoring system performance, conducting data analytics, and balancing system capacity to optimize results for customers. We own and drive internal and external customer requests to resolution while keeping an open channel of communication with the stakeholders during on-going projects. The team is looking to add someone who can champion our end-to-end collection system and quality over the weekends.  

Schedule: This position requires candidates to be available to work full-time hours, 5-days per week including Saturday & Sunday.

Location: Our offices are in Herndon, VA. This position is also available for remote employees working in the United States, with occasional travel to Herndon.

As the Weekend System Operations Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:
  • Act as the main point of contact for all customer and quality concerns during weekend hours
  • Be a point of contact for support inquiries for our internal and external customers
  • Contribute towards the quality assessment and control of the collection system, RF processing algorithms, and customer data products
  • Contribute to scheduling of customer orders and respond to ad hoc changes, additions, or deletions of collections
  • Perform in-depth analysis on issues reported by customers or identified through monitoring systems and escalate issues to higher levels of support when needed
  • Test next generation evolutions of systems, analyzing new capabilities against current production systems
  • Proactively bring issues and problems to the attention of the team; generate, propose, and implement innovative solutions to solve them.
  • Work cross-functionally across the organization with product, engineering, and mission management teams
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential education and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in technical or business-related field, or comparable experience
  • Be available on weekends (Sat/Sun) during regular work hours
  • Experience in a customer service industry or working in a customer-facing role
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High attention to detail and the ability to handle several issues simultaneously while staying organized
  • Lots of initiative, and the ability to learn quickly and seek help when needed
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Desirable:​​​​​​
  • Experience with RF Concepts and familiarity with signals analysis tools, such as Sceptre
  • Experience with navigating and querying PostgresSQL or similar databases
  • Hands-on programming experience or experience working with developers on technical systems
  • History managing and maintaining complex collection systems
  • Working geospatial knowledge and experience with GIS applications (ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Orbital Mechanics and Systems Tool Kit (STK)
  • Experience reading and writing technical documentation
  • Local presence in the DMV area for in person office work and training
Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000 annually

We consider many factors when determining salary offers, such as candidate's work experience, education, training & skills, as well as market and business considerations.
