Description
HawkEye is seeking a strategic and technically adept Director, Special Programs to join our team to drive the strategy and execution of strategic programs for the company. In this role, you will lead the initial formulation, technical and programmatic definition, and execution of highly engineered hardware and software systems (space, ground and other domains) to complement the standard HawkEye 360 capabilities.
Location: This position is based in Herndon, Virginia.
As the Director, Special Programs, your main responsibilities will be:- Work closely with customers, sales, solutions, engineering, and exec team to define concepts, requirements and business cases for highly disruptive new programs.
- Lead the end-to-end management of several strategic special programs, from concept through delivery, ensuring alignment with company business objectives and customer needs.
- Oversee the development, testing, and integration of hardware & software systems, coordinating with the Engineering teams to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain detailed program plans, schedules, and budgets, tracking progress and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Support the new business capture for these special programs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, stakeholders, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and reporting on program status, risks, and issues
Essential education and experience:
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance.
- 15+ years of prior experience managing complex system development projects within the aerospace or defense industry, including RF hardware design, development, fabrication, and test.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with senior management, customers, and technical teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage development resources in program execution, including standing up a new team on behalf of an organization or a program
- Prior experience in Systems Engineering and Project Engineering
- Experience developing SIGINT systems (hardware, software, processing C2)
- Experience developing space hardware and integrated systems
